Join us for a dinner lecture!

On Tuesday April 30, 2013, the Lewis University History Department is hosting a dinner lecture featuring Dr. Cathy Schultz, University of St. Francis professor of history and author of the syndicated newspaper column, "History in the Movies.”  Love them or hate them, there's no denying the power historical films wield in shaping the public's view of the past. Dr. Schultz will discuss the approach Hollywood takes to history, and examine the distortions found in recent films. She'll offer some useful ways to critique historical films, but she’ll also show how history-lovers can (to paraphrase Dr. Strangelove) learn to stop worrying and love the movies.  The cost for the event will be $30.00 which will include dinner and a $5.00 gift to the history department (to defray the cost of the speaker).  Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. in the Faculty Dining Room.
