About Mike: Michael Carnahan is an award winning designer working in theatre, musical theatre, and live events. A Lockport native, he designed the set for the 2009 PLT of Hollywood Arms. He also designed the sets for Candide (1999) and Anything Goes (2000).  As an actor, Michael performed in the PLT summer musical productions Little Shop of Horrors (1991) and Camelot (1992).  His recent work as a set designer includes the premiere of Dominique Morrisseau's Skeleton Crew at the Atlantic Theater Company, Lauren Gunderson's I and You at 59E59, Katori Hall's The Blood Quilt at Arena Stage, Ruben Santiago-Hudson's Your Blues Ain't Sweet Like Mine at Two River Theater, Quiara Alegria Hudes The Happiest Song Plays Lastat Second Stage, the acclaimed Signature Theatre revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson, and The Marvelous Wonderettes. He has collaborated with directors such as Joel Grey, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Charles Randolph-Wright, Christopher Ashley, Neil Pepe, Roger Bean, Austin Pendleton, among many others. He is also a busy associate designer on Broadway where he has worked on The Ferryman by Jez Butterworth, directed by Sam Mendes, The River starring Hugh Jackman, Peter & The Starcatcher (Tony Award), Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson (Tony nomination), and many others. Michael has won numerous awards and nominations for his design work. He is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art & Design.
