The Lewis University Grants Office is Here to Help

Grant seeking at Lewis University is coordinated within the Office of University Advancement. The Grants Office works with Lewis University faculty, staff, and administration to seek grants in support of the University’s activities and Mission. This includes coordinating the submission of proposals for government, foundation and corporate funding sources and providing services in the following areas:

Finding Grant Opportunities

Visit our list of grant search engines, providing information about grants from government agencies, foundations and corporations. If you need help just getting started, complete a research request and a staff member from the Grants Office will contact you with grant opportunities specific to your area of interest.

The Grants Office also provides a Grants for Lunch Program. This is a series of lunchtime workshops on various aspects of grant writing. Workshops may provide a more in depth look at a particular grant program. They may also feature presentations by faculty from local universities or colleges, who have a proven record of success in proposal writing.

Preparing to Pursue Grant Opportunities

Once you have identified a potential funding source, the Grants Office provides assistance with completing the Grants Initiation Form. This form is the official first step toward receiving internal approval for a future grant submission. After this form is signed by appropriate University administrators, you may begin the grant application process.

Completing the Grant Application Process

This may include coordinating the details of grant submission, determining how best to meet the funding program priorities, preparing forms and acquiring the necessary University approvals and signatures. When appropriate, we serve as the Authorized Organization Representative for submitting online proposals.
