What is the Senior Challenge?

The Senior Challenge is a call to graduates to say "thank you." It is an opportunity for you to take ownership of your new alumni status, to show your commitment to the Lewis mission (especially the elements of association and service!), and to enjoy the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of students coming after you.

A modest financial contribution to Lewis’ area of greatest opportunity makes the largest impact. You can also choose to support the area that is most important to you such as scholarships, student organizations, or athletics. Either way, your gift will make an difference!

The goal of the Senior Challenge is not the amount of money raised. The challenge is to get one in five seniors to participate by making a five-year pledge of $150. This commitment breaks down to only $30 a year…$2.50 a month!! While this is not a large financial commitment on the part of each individual senior, it’s all about power in numbers.

If only one in five seniors participate in this challenge, $5,000 could be available each year to support future Lewis students. You may have received financial aid. If so, you know how much of an impact $5,000 can make! So just imagine if every graduating senior pledged to give up their Starbucks coffee every other month and instead gave that $2.50 a month to Lewis!

At the completion of your $150 pledge (whether you do it all at once, over three years, or over five years) you will get a brick in the Heritage Brick Circle to memorialize your time here at Lewis and to signify that you very literally helped “build the future” by giving back.
