Flyer LOVE Notes
"I played volleyball at Lewis and I absolutely loved waking up and dragging myself out of my warm bed at 4:30 a.m. to do our mandatory pool workouts in the dead of winter. Ah yes, when you love something so much, as I did, you sacrifice anything. Great memories at LU of volleyball. Good luck to this year's team, hope there is a lot of LOVE on their team to dominate this year!" Kevin Miller '03
"I loved my years at Lewis as a student, student employee and a staff member. What pushed me though is my first meeting with Sheree Stilwell in the Office of Admission. Without her confidence in the student I could be, and would eventually become, I don't know if I would have survived. She was an uplifting inspiration to me throughout my years at LU. I will always be grateful for her dedication to students and passion to help a student reach their goals." Amanda Sandy '06, '09
"I love that my husband and I met at Lewis and were able to share so many wonderful memories together there. Go LU Women's Soccer & Men's Tennis!" Loren (Pellizzari) Lascon '06
"I loved the education department at Lewis. Each professor shared their passion for the profession. I enjoyed my time at the Den, WLRA, and the Philip Lynch Theatre. Love Lewis!" Barb (Lawson) Hensley '88

"I loved being in Dr. Mark Schultz's history classes. He gave me confidence in myself." Teresa Rompala '01
"I loved the Flyers' Den, Lewisfest, Fitz Pit Party, Sigma Delta, being an R.A. and all of my lifelong friends!" Kim (Johnson) Quinn '88
"When I was a student there, Fitzpatrick Hall was the "state-of-the-art" dorm, so Brother Jude told us. But my fondest memories are of my life-long friend Dr. Philip Peter who taught fine arts and music. If it wasn't for him, there is no way I would love classical music at all, let alone love it till this day. He was and is a true inspiration. He moved on to other campuses and is now retired. But, his encouragement to explore beyond rock and roll has become a major part of my cultural upbringing." John Serio '65
"As a broadcast journalism major, I really enjoyed my time at Lewis University. I loved working for both The Flyer and WLRA, as it helped me a great deal in my media career." Brian Kush '03
"During my four years at Lewis, two teachers stood out. One is Brother Paul French, who taught English and was patient with me. Another is Gordie Gillespie, he treated everyone, even those with disabilities, as an equal. I thank the Lord God for those two in my life." Peter Seiler '67
"As a local HR manager, I tend to give Lewis University students an opportunity for employment because I know the values instilled at the University. As a former athlete of the University, I love to see the volleyball and baseball games." Melissa Stevenson '92
"I learned a lot from all my great teachers in my major. I had a great experience at Lewis U, and love coming back to see everyone." Stephanie Jimenez '09
"Since I married my college sweetheart we represent (the spirit of Lewis) every day. We love to attend school events. We generally attend at least two basketball games a year. The kids are huge Flyer fans." Becky Velazquez '88
"I love that Dr. Berger, Brother Tom Dupre, and Margaret Juraco are still getting students excited about learning mathematics." Erica Kwiatkow '94
"I Entered in 1944 after the Navy Air left. A class of 25 were on full scholarship for four years. I left in 1946 to join the army. At 17-years-old I married the sister of a classmate. 60 years later, nine kids, 32 grandchildren and one great grandchild. I suppose I could blame it all on Lewis!" Fred Wagner '46
"Dr. Nan Yancey, nursing instructor, always pushed me to be my very best and still does to this day, encouraging me to go for my doctorate. She is truly a special lady! Nan puts her students first in all aspects of her teaching." Jamie Djulabic '05, '10
"I loved living in Fitzgerald Hall with my friend Cherie. We had so much fun living together as roommates. I also could never forget about working in the Flyers' Den with my friend Carrie." Suzy Devorsky '91
"Lewis was the best, especially for a "non-traditional" student! Being a psychology major was the best thing that ever happened to me, both emotionally and academically. And a special mention goes to Dr. John Greenwood, who taught me so much about myself. His "you are a good person" philosophy continues to live on." Karen Adamczyk '97
"I loved Lewis! I had a great experience there! My favorite coach, and professor, was Dr. Houlihan. Lewis wouldn't have been Lewis without Doc, CSJ, Mock Trial, Pre Law Club and Fellowship of Justice - a great learning experience and wonderful memories." Elley Skusencia
"I loved Lewis' Greek dances and performances, the Union, the Grotto, watching Mash 4077 finish, Brother Maze, who taught us how to be the best we could be, and Mr. Kennedy, who supported minorities and our fight for an education." Elena Rodriguez
"Mike Cunningham, who taught creative writing in '71, gave me the confidence to allow my thoughts to turn into words on paper. After him, research and wordage became my strongest attribute." Jack Coleman '75
"As an alumni of the class of 1984, everything about Lewis, I love to this day. Keep up the great work. Go Lewis!" Sue Loacker ’84
"Brother Pierre at least attempted to make organic chemistry interesting, but you can't top Brother Bernard for the chemistry glee. I went to class just to see how excited he could get while teaching." Elisa Bott Kensinger
"My memories of Fitz Hall and the wonderful people I lived with there are priceless, as are my memories of my "family" at the "Flyer" newspaper as Editor-in-Chief for three years." Colleen (Johnston) Glass '81
"I loved the old Tech building (currently Philip Lynch Theater), Nick Bonacci, Brother Vincent Neil, Phil Balsamo, and Charlie Ferrel - greatest faculty ever. Alpha Eta Rho was my life." John Lurquin '73
"I loved everything about Lewis. F section in Fitz, Trailer #7 (always the best!), Friars and the Flyer's Den. Most importantly - meeting the great friends. I'm proud to be a Lewis Alumni! THANKS for the memories!" Sue Ferrick-Foys '83
"I love the spirit of Lewis University. Students are always searching for ways to help the community and to improve the world. I love the amazing faculty that inspired us to constantly better ourselves by gaining knowledge and serving others." Anna Jedrol '09
"Many years ago I had a wonderful experience sharing campus life with a handful of students at Lewis (College). I was a biology major with a minor in chemistry. The professors who encouraged me along my chosen path were Father Christopher Marzano (chemistry) and Dr. L. Scheving (biology). There were others whom I respected as well, but these two men made a solid impact on my future as a Registered Medical Technologist (ASCP). I believe I was the first from Lewis to complete the program. Nancy (Willey) Madigan '58
