2025 Palestine Film Series Screening #1
"Where Olive Trees Weep"
Join us for the first installment of the Palestine Film Series, a yearlong exploration of stories from Palestine through the lens of film. We begin with a screening of "Where Olive Trees Weep," a documentary that centers on the lived experiences of Palestinians under occupation, particularly the enduring trauma, resistance, and resilience of women and children. The film’s director, Ashira Darwish, will join the Q & A following the screening for a conversation with the audience. All are welcome.
This event is part of the Gros Institute's annual 2-day Peace Teach-In, which seeks to grow Lewis University's capacity for compassion, justice, and social action. It is also timed to engage the campus community in critical reflection of Indigenous Peoples' Day (10/13).
A reception with light refreshments begins at 5:00 p.m. in the Executive Dining Room (Flight Deck) SB 106A. All are welcome.
