This unique event will focus on the ethical challenges of integrating AI and business, featuring Lewis alumnus, Scott Likens '96, Chief AI Engineer and Principal at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC).

This event will provide students, faculty, and other university stakeholders with a deeper understanding of the ethical considerations that businesses are grappling with as they increasingly rely on AI technology. Attendees will hear about the social, economic, and organizational challenges of ethical AI use in 2025. The event is open to all university community members.

Reverend Kevin J. Spiess Endowed Lecture Series

Established by James M. Denny, this endowment creates an opportunity for faculty, students, and administrators in the Lewis University College of Business to engage in discussion and reflect upon the important role that ethical and religious considerations play in daily choices as well as the impact these choices have on communities, providing a solid foundation and emphasis on the importance of moral development and personal integrity in achieving personal and professional success.

 

 


Scott Likens '96

Scott Likens (’96) is Global Chief AI Engineer and Principal at PwC US, where he leads AI Engineering, Emerging Technology R&D, and oversees the development of innovation in areas such as Generative AI, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, VR/AR, and other disruptive technologies. Drawing on over 30 years of experience, Scott drives strategy and execution that help global clients reshape customer experience, digital operations, and competitive advantage. 

A proud alumnus of Lewis University, Scott began his career in software engineering during the early days of the internet—coding, designing architecture, and building scalable solutions. Over the years, he has worked across industries and geographies, including significant time living and working in China, applying his technical expertise through both global projects and localized innovation.

Scott is frequently invited to speak at leading international forums on emerging technologies: AI & Generative AI, Blockchain & Crypto, IoT, Quantum Computing, and Advanced Robotics. He serves as a bridge between cutting-edge R&D and real-world impact, committed to mentoring the next generation of technologists in line with the values he developed at Lewis.
