Benefitting the Mission Fund

All proceeds from Signum Fidei will be directed to the Lewis University Mission Fund, which provides critical assistance to students experiencing unprecedented financial hardships. The Mission Fund, created in early 2009, was a characteristically generous response by the Lewis Community to our country’s economic challenges at that time, which remain for many people today. Since its inception, hundreds of students who were facing potential withdrawal from the University due to severe financial hardship have been able to continue their pursuit of a degree through support from the Mission Fund.

The Mission Fund Impacts Lives!

"I was scared that my college career would have to be put on hold because I couldn’t come up with the money to pay my tuition balance. I am the first in my family to go to college so that was very disappointing to even think about. But Lewis University helped me in a time of need when I wasn’t able to financially help myself. At the time, I was also struggling with personal belief in myself when it came to school; I wasn't sure if I was cut out for it. Everything at once just seemed impossible, but receiving that Mission Fund helped a lot and impacted my experience at Lewis.” - Samantha, Criminal Justice major

The Mission Fund assists students who meet the following qualifications:
- Exhaustion of all other possible avenues of financial support, including student loans;
- Parent or parents who have lost a job due to the economy, permanent disability, illness or death; and
- Successful progress toward completion of their degree.

The vision of Saint John Baptist de La Salle remains very much alive at Lewis University, characterized by high standards of teaching, caring faculty, a diverse student population and a strong focus on our commitment to educating all qualified students regardless of their financial circumstances.

On behalf of our students who benefit from your thoughtfulness and generosity … Thank you!
