It’s hard to believe that it’s been 50 years since it all started. We’ve been very lucky to have been able to stay as close as we have for all this time. Now it’s time to bring it all back together! Join us for a celebration of 50 years since the establishment of the Lambda Beta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
The reunion will take place where it all started on the Lewis Campus at SHEIL HALL! The schedule includes a Memorial Mass, Bocce/Bags tournament, a reception, three meals, campus tours, use of the campus facilities, an overnight stay in the recently renovated Sheil Hall, and hours and hours of laughs!

History
In 1960, the Brothers of the Christian Schools assumed direction of Lewis College, with a focus on development and growth.
The growth of higher education in the 1960s was reflected at Lewis College in both student body size and community stature. With this growth came a need for the establishment of Lewis College "community" both in service and student social endeavors. A "perfect storm" was brewing, fueling the founding of a dynamic organization based on a common desire to help fill those voids. A group of students anxious to improve campus life through public service while co-establishing the firmest of friendships – a brotherhood.
Enter the Lambda Beta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon
In 1966 a local fraternal organization was formed by the residents in the basement of Sheil Hall and (not ironically) dubbed Pi Iota Tau (PIT)! After a number of service and social projects, recognized organization status was granted by the Lewis administration. A short year later a petition for membership as an active chapter was tendered to the nation’s largest and most extensive college fraternity organization. Approval was granted in the spring of 1967. PIT became the Lambda-Beta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon. The Tekes!Thus was the beginning, a short 50 years ago of our "Fraternity for Life."
