Doughnuts and Directions- First Week of Classes
The first week of classes can be nerve-wracking! One of the hardest parts can be finding your way around campus. To help students, we are offering Doughnuts and Directions. The first two days of classes, Monday, August 26th and Tuesday, August 27th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., we will have tables at the Pavilion on the University Green to give some helpful guidance. Lewis University Family Day
Family Day, on Saturday, September 28th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., is a very special time on campus! Students are given the opportunity to introduce their loved ones to the Flyer Family. Last year, a record number of attendees took part in Family Day. This year we are preparing for an equally successful event and we are looking for alumni volunteers. Volunteers will play a major role in welcoming attendees to campus, checking students and their families into the event, providing directions for attendees and much more! Do you remember how exciting it was to have your family on campus when you were a student? Help us keep this tradition alive! Alumni Letter Writing
The Alumni Engagement team is partnering with the Office of Admissions to recruit incoming freshmen to attend Lewis and we could use alumni help! Nearly 2,500 students who have recently applied to Lewis, been accepted, but have not yet taken the final step to enroll. To encourage these students to commit to attending Lewis, we started an alumni letter-writing program. Here’s where alumni come in - we need YOU to write letters that reflect the impact that the University had on your personal and professional life. We will then send those letters to prospective students in hopes that they will become Flyers! Please complete this interest form if you want to help with this!

Life after Lewis Series
Students learn so much while attending college, but some things are learned in the real world. Experience is extremely valuable and allowing alumni the opportunity to share their experience with our students is something we are excited to facilitate. That is why the Alumni Engagement team will be hosting Life after Lewis events in both the fall and spring. This fall, we will be discussing Financial Literacy and how to live on a budget, but still have fun! In the spring, we are accepting alumni suggestions. If you have a topic that you are interested in sharing, please complete this interest form.
Celebration of Scholarship Judge
Each year Lewis University hosts a symposium to celebrate the research, scholarly work and creative endeavors of students and faculty. The Lewis University Celebration of Scholarship is scheduled for Thursday, April 16th, 2020. Following a keynote address, poster sessions will be held spotlighting the scholarship of students and faculty from all Colleges across the University. We would like to invite you to take part in the Celebration of Scholarship by serving as a poster session judge.

As a poster session judge, you will be assigned several posters to visit. Students will talk to you about their projects including background, relevant methods or research process and the overall project findings/conclusions. A scoring sheet will help aid you in evaluating the students’ projects. You do not need to be an expert in the field. We try to ensure that each poster is judged by a combination of both faculty experts and lay judges. Please complete this interest form if you want to join us!
