Eliminate the Fear of Leaving Your Comfort Zone

Whether change is planned or unplanned, more than likely you will need to step outside your comfort zone and do something different. However, leaving your comfort zone is frightening. Fear can stifle growth, halt progress, and negatively impact behavior giving the feeling of being stuck. This session looks beyond the illusion of comfort to the stark reality of the discomfort of change and offers breakthrough action steps to discover what creates fear in times of change and how to break down brick walls of “I can’t” standing in the way.

Branding Yourself: Putting Your Best Foot Forward

Embracing the Roller Coaster Ride of Life

Throughout our lives we experience many transitions. Even as a pre-school/kindergartner we transition into elementary school… it can be exciting and yet scary. From there we progress through all the grades but that is just the beginning. Relationships, careers, professional challenges, losses, marriage, divorce, parenting, grand parenting, empty nesting – all fall under the umbrella of transitions. Transitions can cause anxiety, invoke depressive symptoms AND can be the most joyous of occasions. What is important is how we process it all.

This session concentrates on the importance of building business relationships in order to maximize business. We will explore the four levels of a business relationship to get the highest level with our customers. In order to build this relationship, it all relies on how well you communicate. We will explore the two areas of communication and how to work them to your benefit. Communication and how we execute communication is essential to our business success. From face-to-face meetings, working the phones, how we conduct ourselves on social media, and written communication will all be discussed and much more. There will be class interaction along with a handout for future reference.

Staying Healthy and Fit on a Busy Schedule

Sit a lot at your desk? Learn how to avoid the sedentary lifestyle while at work or home for the busy professional woman. Learn fun new ways to fit exercise into your daily life as a busy professional! We will go over beginner sample plans that can be done from your office or desk, workouts that only require 15-20 minutes, no equipment necessary exercise plans, and anytime routines for at home or at your local gym.

Cultivating Resilience: Self Care for Women Leaders

Martha Villegas Miranda

Participants will learn about the importance of taking care of ourselves and numerous ways we can cultivate self-care in our daily lives. This is a very important topic for women leaders to ensure the necessary physical and mental health needs are taken care of as we embark on leadership roles in our lives.

 

3:55- 4:40 p.m. Breakout Session 4

Live Your Dreams

Alisa Williams

During this workshop, participants will be motivated to record thoughts, discussion notes, and insights for their goals in a workbook that is provided. Examples from the workbook are: “Getting Started: Drop Your Burdens,” “What To Do When You Are Stuck,” “Prepare for Liftoff,” “Getting Up The Courage: Act On Your Ideas.” The steps and insights learned will help participants live out their dreams once the session is completed.

Monopolize Your Career: How to Pass Go and Collect $200 – Being Mindful and Purposeful in Career Choices and Moves

Tiffany Lacy Clark

This breakout session will focus on women being mindful and purposeful in their career choices and moves. Tiffany’s personal experience will help illustrate how one can fast-track themselves through the corporate climb and own the trajectory of their career. Learning these skills will be significant for career women in this generation, especially due to the changes in workforce longevity and our desire to carve out our own paths. This generation does not see the path to retirement and golden watches the same as previous generations did. In this session, we’ll explore the alternative route to success.

Living Life Off The Edge: Have an Effective Work/Life Balance

Joyce Dawkins

This session will focus on work/life balance and how to get yourself off the edge, swaying back and forth between things. We will be discussing how to find the right balance in your life so that everything and everyone that’s important to you gets the attention it needs without overwhelming yourself. Attendees will learn:

1. How to make yourself part of your daily agenda
2. How to say NO and not feel bad
3. How to get an additional 15 minutes out of your day
4. How to set priorities
5. How to live your life on purpose and off the edge
