Stefanie (Jalloway) Aievoli

Stefanie (Jalloway) Aievoli, ’08 and ’13, graduated from Lewis with her BSN in 2008.

“I loved it so much that I went back and received my MSN in 2013!” she adds.

An oncology nurse at University of Chicago Medicine for five years, Stefanie now serves as a nursing educator for Chamberlain College of Nursing. She credits her time at Lewis with providing her the experience she needs to provide the best experience for her own students.

“Lewis University gave me the education, skills, and compassion that is absolutely necessary for today's nurse and today's nursing educator,” she says. “Something very important that I learned is that you need to see the entire patient and the entire student when caring and working with them. It's the whole picture, the individual. It's never just the disease or the exam grade. Lewis also taught  me the importance of giving yourself to others.”

In addition to teaching future nurses, Stefanie also volunteers for a non-for-profit organization called Bright Pink, which focuses on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.
